Rev Up Your Life! thrills and surprises

The happy PLF Family who helped
make the event a success.
29 April 2012 SHAH ALAM - Despite the potential traffic jams and the lure of staying home comfortably over the weekend, a dedicated group of people braved the heat and distance to attend the PLF Showcase 2.0 - Rev Up Your Life! at the Raja Tun Uda Library in Section 13, here, over two days to listen to 12 talented speakers share their knowledge.

The two days were a buffet of knowledge where members of the public from all walks of life attended. Topics as diverse as personal development, email marketing, child development, gold investment and business management excited the senses of those who came.

The event, which was jointly organised and hosted by the PLF Family and Take Charge Sdn Bhd put on stage Professional Learning Facilitators (PLF) who have completed a 3-day basic training program to become skilled educators. The PLFs are trained in the Take Charge Learning Facilitation System founded by Mohd Rizal Hassan, an International Learning Facilitator. Most of these PLFs were already trainers or coaches in their own fields before attending the course.

As part of their continuous development as a PLF, they are required to present their best learning materials to an unknown audience, while Rizal observes them. This gives the PLFs the practice and exposure to stand up in front of a crowd and learn to manage the audience. The audience, who are allowed to watch for free, are then given the opportunity to provide feedback on the speakers' performance.

Some of the PLFs were also being audited for Mastery, the next level of PLF certification. At this level, a PLF is recognised as a Master Practitioner of the Take Charge Learning Facilitation System and may be given the right to audit and certify other PLFs.

The serene surroundings of the picture-perfect library complemented the learning shared inside the auditorium on the second floor, where parents and children sat and listened to the talks.

Rizal commented on the difference between this program and other learning programs, "Our events are family-friendly, which means babies and children are always welcome. The informality of the event allows us to share and connect well with the audience. For PLFs on stage, it also provides a good challenge to present with distractions".

The event kicked off on Saturday with Rizal sharing a 30-minute tip with the audience which served as an appetiser for the coming speakers. Among the more memorable moments included Hakim Mohd Nor's sharing of a personal development method which allowed him to excel in his studies, attain the five-figure monthly income he wanted, the car he dreamed of and a life partner he had never met. He is getting married this year.

Audience members were also pleasantly surprised by Mohd Nadzrin Wahab in full Malay warrior garb performing a Silat wardance as part of his topic, followed the next day by a spine-tingling combat demonstration by Rizal and himself.

The other presenters on Saturday included Rina Baha who explored professional etiquette, Muhammad Fazlaidha who extolled the power of email marketing for entrepreneurs, Nura Muna Abd Halim who shared the importance of attitude in a Muslim's daily life, and HR specialist Azmi Abu Bakar who demonstrated the effectiveness of mindset transformation.

The Sunday presenters were just as thrilling with Zuhairi Mohd Nopiah introducing the Islamic perspective on the Law of Attraction, Firdaus Arshad on recovering from a negative life event, Suhaili Ikhsan on using house chores to develop young children, Gold Coach Shila Hakim on investing intelligently in gold and Tharwah Kassim on the benefits of starting your own business.

Mac fans had a treat as Hanis Jenalis closed the two-day event with his eagerly-awaited topic, "How to Master My Mac", which only served to convince if not convert the non-Mac fans in the audience to run out and buy an apple of the non-biological variety.

Program director, Nadzrin deemed the event a success. "I believe we've achieved what we set out to do. This is the second episode of the event and more people attended this round than the last. It's also the first time PLFs attained Mastery before a public audience, so yes, I'm happy. Everyone is looking forward for the next one".

The PLF Showcase is hosted once every three months. The next edition, PLF Showcase 3.0: Be Stronger! Reach Higher! will be held on 21-22 July 2012 at the Raja Tun Uda Library in Section 13, Shah Alam.

Alhamdulillah syukur. On the birth of this super duper wonderful blog.

Just to share a light moment. I have applied LUA on both days... I have "booked" the parking space on both days from Allah. I focused on the "spot" and Alhamdulillah... the power of the mind, body and soul... were appropriately applied.

Preparation? I prepared my mind by focusing on the spot I had wanted, my body decided to leave home earlier and I sent my soul "communicating" with Allah since the night before. S.A.H!

With the niat in mind to share baked curry puffs with the PLF family, Allah made it easier to prepare the dough, baking was also perfect and there was sufficient to go round. Alhamdulillah Ya Allah.
